1) A fixed mindset could be holding you back

I found this article incredibly helpful. I've often thought about how powerful fixed mindsets are in everyday life. Thoughts are very powerful overall, initial thoughts can be trained into habitual thoughts. If your brain tends to think a certain way, it can become habitual. But I believe one can re-train the brain and this article goes over that. This article was related to the "growth mindset" I have mentioned in previous posts, and how beneficial it is to teach your mind to be thrilled by challenges. Approaching a challenge with the excitement to learn rather than fear of failure can open the mind in incredible ways allowing growth. The article mentions the "you either have it or you don't" mentality as well, which I believe is one of the most detrimental mentalities one could have. This limits people and neglects the thought of growth.
2) Why rejection hurts so much

I chose this as my next article because I have wondered why rejection hurts so much. It really shouldn't because everyone has to face rejection in their life but we all still crumble at the thought of rejection. I found it interesting that the fear of rejection can trace back to hunter and gatherer days. In that time, rejection was tied to death due to the fact that rejection from the group meant self-reliant survival which almost always ended in death. Another interesting point made in the article is how rejection is more self-inflicted harm than anything else. Most people tend to obsess over their rejections preventing them from moving forward. One thing that could combat this fear of rejection would be confidence in one's self worth. The ability to give yourself worth without relying on your success seen through other's eyes would prevent the fear of another's rejection.
